i see an anniversary ~ Seattle Wedding ~ Nina & Tom

Although I’m waist-deep in editing, I had to take a moment to let you know three reasons why Nina Forsyth is a cool chick…

1.  she wore red pumas on her wedding day
2.  i have more photos of her biting her husband than kissing him
3.  she makes an insanely good cupcake

Don’t think I’m forgetting her husband Tom – he’s cool because he married Nina one year ago today…happy anniversary guys!

seeing the ‘bliss’ ~ Gasworks Park & Golden Gardens ~ Kristi & Travis

Kristi & Travis decided for their anniversary this year to have portraits taken…I’m so glad they chose me to do them.  What a fun couple – we had a great day!

i see an anniversary ~ congrats Heather & Reid!

I am late in getting this ‘happy anniversary’ out to Heather & Reid, but I sure can’t miss wishing them a happy happy first anniversary together!  They got married last April at the beautiful Hidden Meadows in what started as a rainy day, but ended with the most BEAUTIFUL Spring sunset.

When I asked Heather if she had any advice for my 2010 couples, she said “I guess my best piece of advice would be to hire a ‘day of wedding coordinator’. Not having to worry about details or getting bombarded with a zillion questions on your wedding day is worth the cost.”  Heather & Reid worked with Teasha & Shannon of Perfection is Planned on her big day – check them out!

i see an anniversary ~ congrats to Brooke & Derek!

The first time I met Brooke & Derek, I said a wish on a star after we met at the coffee shop…it went something like ‘please pick me, please pick me’.  I just thought that they were some of the coolest people ever and I felt an audible ‘click’ between Brooke and me.  My wish came true and last March 27th, they got hitched at Top of the Market.  It was super great.

Brooke sent me a bit of advice for couples planning their wedding…

“My advice, especially for those with a lot of out of town friends and
family, is to have your wedding on a Friday night. We found that most
places offer a discount for Friday nights because it’s a “less popular”
day to get married. We were able to use the money we saved to host a
Beals Bowl-O-Rama on Saturday afternoon so we could spend quality time
with our friends and family without the stress of the wedding. Oh, and
Jenny came bowling too, which made for some great additional photos and
it turned into a whole wedding weekend where both our families and
friends could really get to know one another!”

The Bowl-O-Rama was pretty cool…happy anniversary B & D!!

i see an anniversary ~ congrats to Jessica & Gene!

Do you remember that Saturday last March where it rained, snowed and then was sunny by the afternoon?  Well, that was the same beautiful day when Jess & Gene got married at Palisade.  I asked Jessica if she had any advice for couples planning their own wedding…

“It might seem like strange advice but I would highly recommend choosing
flowers for your wedding that are very seasonal to your date. We
married in early spring so we used Ranunculus, Freesia, Dianthus,
Hydrangea, Spider Mums… Now that our anniversary is coming, it has been
so amazing these past few weeks to walk by the flower shops and see the
flowers from my wedding day. They’re only around this time of year so
it’s really special. One fragrant note from the White Narcissus and I’m
taken back to all the amazing memories of that day.”

i see an anniversary ~ congrats to Amy & Derek!

Amy & Derek were married last February at the beautiful Sorrento Hotel.  It was at this wedding where I met the fabulous Annemarie Juhlian too!  I asked Amy for any wedding day advice she might have.  She said “for the wedding day my advice is to be very thoughtful to take moments
to really look around and take in what is happening. Especially to the
bride when walking down the aisle – look at the guests and their
smiling faces.”
Sounds like great advice to me!

i see an anniversary ~ congrats to Amber & Justin!

Amber & Justin are celebrating their first anniversary this weekend – it was such a beautiful day last February at the Grand Willow Inn in Mt. Vernon – if you’d like to see more photos from their day, click here

I’m hoping to get some ‘words of wisdom’ from past couples to pass on to those of you that are in the midst of planning their own big day…stay tuned for more anniversaries!

(edited on 2/11)  I just got this note/comment from Amber and thought I would insert it here…

“Wow! I cannot believe it has been a year, and look, I still have all of these wonderful pictures to look back on. The wedding was beautiful and it was one of the best days of my life. If I have to recommend anything, I would say to hire a coordinator for the day if you can. She made sure everything ran smoothly and it was stress free for me!  I have to give a shout out to Jenny, without her, I wouldn’t have these wonderful memories captured forever. I cannot say enough about her, she made us feel so comfortable and relaxed, she brought out the best in us and thought of things I wouldn’t have otherwise thought of. After the wedding, my whole family couldn’t stop talking about how wonderful and funny she was, how nice she was, and how truly beautiful the pictures had turned out. I have many people to thank for the coming together of the wedding, but Jenny is the only one who captured it all so I can look back on it forever – Thank you Jenny!!!”    – Amber
