i see you, now you see me! Hi there - I'm Jenny.  Just a couple things about me...

  • I have an unhealthy, but happy relationship with caffeine and ice cream.
  • I am a total insomniac and I get a ton of work done at 3 a.m.
  • I have the coolest 4 year-old on the planet.
  • Your photos are not about me or my 'art'.  I believe my job is to show your awesomeness.
  • There isn't one aspect of my job that I don't like.  I even feel weird calling it a 'job' sometimes.

I think it's important that you not only like your photographer's work, but that you actually like your photographer.

Did you know that last Sunday was National Pi Day...as in 3.14159......?  Amanda & Erik planned their nuptials around this mathematical constant in so many super cool ways.  They had the ceremony at 1:59, their 'take home' favor were these Pint glasses (get it? Pi-NT).  Their cake toppers were the cutest robot bride and groom and their guest book was a group activity.  They had blank guest book pages at every table with markers - such a great activity for such a unique wedding!

Venue & Catering - Court in the Square

Their first look was by the waterfall next to Occidental Park...

I think the funniest moment of the day was when Amanda and her father started down the aisle - no one stood up and Amanda said nice and loudly "well are you gonna stand up?!"  Everyone laughed and everyone stood.  Their vows were SO incredibly sweet and Amanda's tears really got me...

Okay, my favourite (though though are so many wonderful love-filled people shots!) is the texture of the dress with the bouquet - just gorgeous details!!

Got to go on a ferry ride Saturday to meet up with Cyndi & Nick for their engagement session - I just love when couples have a strong connection to their e-session locations and I love hearing the stories of what makes it special.  This sweet couple met at the hospital across the water from our first location.  I am so looking forward to their wedding this summer at one of my favorite venues, Alderbrook Resort & Spa.  Stay tuned!

During my super fun engagement session today with Cyndi & Nick, we started talking about cameras, photography techniques and post-processing, etc...  On the way home, I started thinking about post-processing styles and how I love to see 'before & after' photos.  I loved the way Cyndi's eyes smoldered here, but thought I'd add a little 'pop' to them and then just smooth out her skin a tad.  I then added some overall warmth to the photo (you'd never know just how flippin' cold they were!)  Just thought I'd share a little about how I approach photos after the session and to give this super sweet couple a sneak peek from today!
