  • I have an unhealthy, but happy relationship with caffeine and ice cream.
  • I am a total insomniac and I get a ton of work done at 3 a.m.
  • I have the coolest 3 1/2 year-old on the planet.
  • One of my dogs sucks her thumb.
  • Your photos are not about me or my 'art'.  I believe my job is to show your awesomeness.
  • There isn't one aspect of my job that I don't like.  I even feel weird calling it a 'job' sometimes.

I think it's important that you not only like your photographer's work, but that you actually like your photographer.

So, not only is Kiana Lodge my new favorite wedding venue, but Janney & Rick's wedding cake was the best tasting cake I've ever had!  These two things made the day great, but the day was actually made awesome by Janney, Rick and their totally amazing group of family and friends.  We started our day at Janney's parents house near Poulsbo - her sister did Janney's hair & makeup, with Janney's niece and nephews under foot and cute as ever.  Rick saw Janney for the first time down at the waterfront park in Poulsbo - there were so many tears...so sweet.  The wedding party met us down there and we all got to walk the town together and stop at the Sluys Bakery (a frequent 'date stop' for J & R) for some yummy treats.

The weather was so beautiful and their ceremony was just as lovely.  The harpist was such a cool touch!  The reception was filled with lots of laughter, more tears and some great food.  While everyone started to get the dance floor hopping, we set up a fauxtobooth for some crazy fun - click here to snag your fauxto from the booth!  Such a great day Janney & Rick - thanks so much for letting me be a part of your day...and did I mention how yummy that cake was?!?

Wedding Photography ~ St. Patrick's Church, Tacoma ~ Margot & Adrian

You may remember Margot & Adrian from our engagement session in Tacoma last year - this couple has been together for 14 years and on August 22nd, they gathered all of their friends and family to celebrate their official union at St. Patrick's church in Tacoma.  It's a beautiful church, but like many churches, I had to stay at the back during the ceremony (God bless 200mm).  I had a lot of fun with many of Margot's extended family - a lot of 'uncles' to joke around with and I don't think I've ever been to a wedding with more children - all totally cute of course.  Thanks for having me be a part of your special day M & A - I wish you only the best.

Amidst all of this summer's wedding fun, I got to have some super fun with Shirley, Shanyanika, Austin, Tiesa, Zaron, Emily, Zaquai, Zion and Zarae down at Golden Gardens a couple weeks ago!  This family was so easy to be with and totally loves each other - my favorite combination!  Here are a few of my faves...
