Jolene & Steve met with me in downtown Bellevue a few weeks ago for some Eastside photo fun. Jolene and I first started chatting about their wedding photography a little over a year now, so it was great to get to actually spend some time together - I love getting to know people through taking pictures of them. Check out the smoldering eyes Jolene gives and the great smirk Steve can flash - totally smokin' couple! I'm definitely looking forward to their big day next year - here are a few of my faves...

Wedding Photography ~ McCaw Hall & Salty's Alki ~ Jennifer & Kevin

I had a GREAT day with Jennifer & Kevin - there are so many photos I'd like to share - choosing for their blog post has been kind of hard! Their wedding ceremony was at McCaw Hall, the opera house located in the Seattle Center. They had their official wedding date on 09-09-09, in honor of the great luck and good fortune the Chinese hold with the number 9, so this ceremony (on the 12th) in front of friends and family offered lots of laughter and a really fun party to follow it.

A traditional Lion Dance followed the wedding ceremony, right outside of McCaw Hall - the drums and dancing was so cool! There were LOTS of family pictures on the lawn afterward with the Space Needle in the background and then Patrick, the video dude and I got to go play at the big fountain with K & J afterward. How awesome is it that they just went for it and got a little wet?!? We then piled in a car and headed down to Salty's on Alki for their wedding reception. We made a quick stop at Metropolitan Market to grab a toss bouquet for Jenn - it was a kick to be in the speed checkout lane with a bride and groom.

Teasha & Shannon from Perfection is Planned not only did an awesome job at McCall Hall, but they totally rocked the house at Salty's on Alki - these ladies always do an amazing job and I love working with them! The candy covered fortune cookies, chopsticks, the cake and chinese table decorations...really cool! Jeff Hill (DJ rockstar) totally kept the energy up on the dance floor - check out the little dude rocking the M. Jackson moves...he totally moonwalked and ripped his shirt open...crazy!

The whole day was a whirlwind and totally great - thank you SO much Jenn and Kevin for having me be a part of your big day - you're the best!

these photos are beautiful. i love the juxtaposition of modern and traditional accents--i like the two dresses hanging up side-by-side. the colors are bold and complementary and really POP out in the photos. i really enjoyed looking at these beautiful pics.

Wedding Photography ~ Destination ~ Vermont ~ Naomi & James

| i see weddings

You might remember Naomi & James from their crazy-cute pup at their e-session a few months ago...how excited was I to hear that their Seattle wedding plans had changed to become Vermont wedding plans?!? Super excited is the answer - I hopped on my first red-eye flight (to Boston), drove up to Vermont, spent a wonderful day with N, J & their awesome family/friends, drove back to Boston that night and flew back to Seattle the next day. Totally exhausting and TOTALLY worth it!

Vermont is really pretty - the leaves weren't changing yet, but I believe I saw colors of green that I hadn't seen before. Naomi's folks just bought this farm - horses, a pool (which the couple totally took the plunge in!), this really awesome braided fence. N's bff came down from NY, friends and family flew in from a variety of areas...their dear friend was their officiant...the day was just as they had wanted it to be.

The food was off the charts...three words for you...Maple Cayenne Bacon. As if that isn't enough, there was grilled bread, this tenderloin yumminess, cake & cupcakes and the list goes on...the entire day was so fun and sweet and wonderful. Thank you SO much Naomi & James for having me join you!
