  • I have an unhealthy, but happy relationship with caffeine and ice cream.
  • I am a total insomniac and I get a ton of work done at 3 a.m.
  • I have the coolest 4 year-old on the planet.
  • Your photos are not about me or my 'art'.  I believe my job is to show your awesomeness.
  • There isn't one aspect of my job that I don't like.  I even feel weird calling it a 'job' sometimes.

I think it's important that you not only like your photographer's work, but that you actually like your photographer.

While in San Diego last week, I got to go meet Charlie - the coolest kid east of Lake Hodges.  He is the new love of Chad and Trish and he is truly a sweet little ball 'o yum.  Trish and I have been friends since junior high, but the truth is that our connection as adults has been amazing.  I absolutely adore her and am so thrilled for the happiness that I've seen come to her in the last few years.  LOVE YOU!

I took a few shots of Trish while she fed Charlie - she called me in closer to catch his "milk-alcholic" face...

While Trish and I were in the other room, Chad and Lily went to pick lemons from the tree and together they made lemonade!  I thought it was awesome that he had a monkey cup for her to drink from and the lemonade was yummy.  He will be (is) a great dad!

It must have been something in the salt air, but I've gotten carried away and this wonderful day is resulting in two blog posts...

Karen - embodies the word 'spunky', amazing eyes, an intense passion for what is right and an equal passion for Amber...
Amber - one of the best laughs I've ever heard, can shake it like a salt shaker and shined happiness and bliss the entire day...

love beach weddings and the surfer dude's cameo appearance! loved the dresses, especially how karen took something traditional (her mother's dress) and transformed it into her own. also loved the bridesmaids dresses and the different shades and styles look great together.

Destination Wedding Photography ~ San Diego ~ Amber & Karen part two!

So after we all trekked back up from the beach, it was time for a quick lunch, family photo fun and more toasts before the ceremony.  In light of the Prop 8 nonsense, K & A signed their domestic partnership paperwork during the event.  They created a ceremony that incorporated each member of the wedding party and completely made it their own (rockstar!).

The party on the deck was super fun - just about everyone worked the dance floor a bit (including yours truly)  This entire day was completely dipped in awesomesauce.

**Special 'shout out' to Jenni & Jason - it was at their wedding last year that I was introduced to Amber & Karen.  I'm so excited that I got to shoot their wedding day, but so completely blessed to now count them as friends.**
